Turn Base64 Back Into an Image, Free

Paste a data URL or bare base64 and get the image back, ready to download. Runs in your browser, so nothing you paste is sent anywhere.

Free, no sign-up, runs in your browser

The text you paste is decoded on your own device and never sent anywhere.

100% private. The text is decoded in your browser, never sent to a server.

Quick answer

BatchSet turns base64 back into an image free and entirely in the browser, with nothing sent to a server. It accepts a data URL, bare base64, a CSS url(...) rule or a pasted img tag, and ignores line breaks and quotes. The image type is read from the decoded bytes rather than the data: header, so the file saves with the right extension even when the header is wrong or missing, and the result is previewed before download.

How to use the Base64 to Image

Three quick steps — free, private, right in your browser.

1

Paste the text

A full data URL, the base64 on its own, a CSS url(...) rule or a whole <img> tag all work.

2

Turn it into an image

The type is read from the decoded bytes, so it is right even when the header says nothing.

3

Download

Preview it first, then save it with the right extension.

Frequently asked questions

What can I paste?+

A data URL like data:image/png;base64,iVBOR…, or just the base64 part. Line breaks, quotes, a CSS url(...) wrapper and a pasted <img> tag are all stripped for you.

How does it know whether it is a PNG or a JPG?+

It reads the first bytes of the decoded data, which carry each format's signature, rather than trusting the data: header. That means a string labelled wrongly still saves with the right extension.

Is what I paste sent anywhere?+

No. The decoding happens in your browser, so a token or a private document inside that string never leaves your device.

It says the base64 is damaged. What now?+

Something was cut off or changed, often by an editor wrapping lines or a copy that missed the end. Copy the whole string again, including the trailing = signs.

Can it decode an SVG data URL?+

Yes, and it previews it. The SVG is shown as an image, never run as code on this page.
