KB

Quick answer

BatchSet reduces an image to a size you type in KB, free and entirely in the browser, with no upload and no sign-up. It searches for the highest JPG quality that fits the target and scales the photo down only when quality alone cannot reach it, then shows the final size and dimensions. Any target from 5 KB upwards works, with presets for the common 20, 50, 100 and 200 KB form limits.

How to use the Reduce Size in KB

Three quick steps — free, private, right in your browser.

1

Type the size you need

Put the limit from the form in the Target size box, in KB, or pick 20, 50, 100 or 200.

2

Add your photos

Drop JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC photos. Each one is compressed in your browser as soon as it is added.

3

Download

Check the final size on each card, then save the JPG or download them all as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce a photo to an exact size in KB?+

Type the number of KB you need and add the photo. The tool searches for the highest JPG quality that fits, and only scales the photo down if no quality is small enough. You see the final size and dimensions before you download.

Are my photos uploaded?+

No. The whole thing runs on your own device: the photo is read, compressed and saved without ever being sent to us. That is also why there is no queue and no size limit from our side.

What sizes can I ask for?+

Anything from 5 KB upwards. The common form limits are 20, 50, 100 and 200 KB, and each has its own page with a few tips.

Why is my photo so large to begin with?+

Phone cameras save 12 to 48 megapixels at high quality, which is several megabytes. Forms are built for a fraction of that, so compression, and sometimes a smaller pixel size, is unavoidable.

Does this change the dimensions?+

Only when it has to. The tool lowers quality first and keeps your pixels; it scales down only when the target cannot be reached any other way, and then it tells you the new dimensions.

Is there a limit on how many photos?+

No limit from us. Everything runs on your device, so the only limit is your own memory and patience.
