The 2026 IBPS notices for PO/MT, Clerk and SO ask for a recent passport-style colour photo on a light, preferably white, background, 200 × 230 pixels (preferred), with a file size between 20 KB and 50 KB, as jpg or jpeg. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not accepted; religious headwear is allowed if it does not cover the face.
140 × 60 pixels (preferred) and a file between 10 KB and 20 KB, signed on white paper with a black ink pen. A signature in capital letters is not accepted.
Because 140 × 60 pixels is too small to hold 10 KB as a JPG: in our test a clean signature at that size came to about 6.5 KB even at the best quality. The notice calls 140 × 60 "preferred" and makes 10–20 KB the rule, so the tool keeps the same 7:3 shape and steps up (210 × 90, 280 × 120 and so on) until the file reaches 10 KB, and tells you when it does that.
Left thumb impression: 240 × 240 pixels at 200 DPI (3 × 3 cm), 20–50 KB, black or blue ink on white paper. Hand-written declaration: 800 × 400 pixels at 200 DPI (10 × 5 cm), 50–100 KB, written in English in black ink and not in capital letters. Both have a tab here, and their own pages with more detail.
The tool raises the JPEG quality until the file reaches 20 KB without changing the 200 × 230 size. A very plain photo can stay under 20 KB even at the best quality; the tool says so, and a sharper, better-lit photo usually fixes it.
