KB

Quick answer

BatchSet reduces a PDF to a size you type in KB, free and entirely in the browser, with no upload and no sign-up. Any target from 10 KB to 20 MB works, with presets for 100, 200, 300 and 500 KB and 1 MB. Pages are rendered as images at up to 150 DPI and the PDF is rebuilt, lowering JPEG quality first and resolution only when needed, never below 60 DPI. Up to 60 pages; text in the result is not selectable, which suits scanned documents.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce a PDF to an exact size in KB?+

Type the size and add the PDF. Each page is drawn as an image at up to 150 DPI and the PDF is rebuilt from those images. The tool tries higher JPEG quality first and lowers the resolution only when quality alone is not enough, never below 60 DPI, where text stops being readable. You see the final size before you download.

What sizes can I ask for?+

Anything from 10 KB to 20 MB. Common limits on upload forms are 100, 200, 300 and 500 KB and 1 MB, and 100, 200 and 500 KB each have their own page.

Will the text in my PDF still be selectable?+

No. Every page is saved as an image, so text can no longer be selected, copied or searched, and links are removed. For scanned certificates, marksheets and photographed documents, which are images already, nothing visible changes. For a PDF made in a word processor, keep the original as well.

Is my PDF uploaded?+

No. The PDF is read, compressed and saved on your own device. Nothing is sent to us, which matters for marksheets, IDs and other personal documents.

What if my PDF has a password?+

Remove the password first. A password-protected PDF cannot be opened in the browser without it, and the tool says so instead of failing silently.

Is there a page limit?+

Up to 60 pages and 50 MB. The work happens in your browser's memory, so a very long document is better split first.
