Quick answer

BatchSet splits an image into a grid of equal tiles, from 1 x 2 up to 10 x 10, free and entirely in the browser. A 3 x 3 grid makes an Instagram grid post. Tiles cover the image exactly, uneven sizes spread one pixel at a time, and every tile downloads in a ZIP named by row and column.

How to use the Split Image

Three quick steps — free, private, right in your browser.

1

Add your image

Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP image, or several if they all need the same grid.

2

Pick the grid

Choose 1 x 2, 2 x 2, 3 x 3 or any grid up to 10 x 10.

3

Split and download

Every tile is cut in your browser. Download them all as a ZIP, named by row and column.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make an Instagram grid?+

Pick 3 x 3 and download the nine tiles. Post them starting with the last tile, r3c3, and finish with r1c1, because Instagram puts the newest post first. For a wide panorama, use 1 x 3 instead.

Are the tiles exactly equal?+

When the size divides evenly, yes. When it doesn't, some tiles are one pixel wider or taller, so the tiles still cover the whole image with no gap and no overlap.

Does splitting lower the quality?+

No pixels are changed. PNG tiles are lossless; JPG and WebP tiles are saved at high quality (92).

Is it free?+

Yes. No account and no watermark, and the image is split on your own device.

Are my images uploaded?+

No. Everything runs in your browser.

Can I put the tiles back together?+

Yes, with the Merge Images tool: add the tiles of a row side by side, then stack the rows.
