What size should Shopify product images be?
Shopify recommends 2048 × 2048 px square images, which display best and enable zoom. Images can be up to 5000 × 5000 px (or 25 megapixels) and must be under 20 MB. This tool's Shopify preset fits every image inside 2048 × 2048.
Do I need to convert Shopify images to WebP?
No. Shopify accepts WebP, PNG and JPEG, and since 2023 it automatically serves the best format to each browser — so WebP delivery happens even if you upload JPG. Converting to WebP here just makes your uploads smaller. BatchSet defaults to WebP quality 82 but you can pick JPG or PNG.
