Quick answer

BatchSet resizes product photos to exactly 1000 x 1000 pixels, free and in the browser, with no upload. It opens with white padding, so the whole product stays in the square, and can crop instead. Batches download as a ZIP. 1000 px clears Amazon's mark for zoom; Shopify suggests 2048 x 2048 and Etsy at least 2000 px, so larger sources resized down stay sharpest.

How to resize to 1000 x 1000 on Windows, Mac and iPhone

The built-in apps do one photo at a time. Watch the shape: if the photo is not square, typing 1000 twice stretches it.

Windows (Paint)

  1. Open the photo in Paint and choose Resize.
  2. Pick Pixels and untick Maintain aspect ratio.
  3. Type 1000 for both sides and click OK, then save a copy.

Paint stretches a photo that isn't square. Crop it to a square first, or use Pad on this page to add bars instead.

Mac (Preview)

  1. Open the photo in Preview and choose Tools, then Adjust Size.
  2. Set the units to pixels and untick Scale proportionally.
  3. Type 1000 for width and height and click OK.

Preview overwrites the original when you save. Duplicate the file first, or use this page, which never touches your files.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open this page in Safari and tap the drop area.
  2. Choose Photo Library and pick your photos.
  3. Tap Resize, then download the ZIP to the Files app.

The Photos app can crop to Square but can't set a pixel size, so a crop there won't come out at exactly 1000 x 1000.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image to 1000 x 1000 pixels?+

Drop your photos on this page. It opens on Exact size, 1000 x 1000, with Fit on Pad and a white background. Click Resize and download the ZIP. Switch Fit to Crop if you would rather fill the square.

Is 1000 x 1000 good for Amazon?+

It clears Amazon's 1000 px mark for zoom and its 500 px minimum. The main image also needs a pure white background with the product filling about 85% of the frame. White padding helps with the square, but the product itself must be shot or cut out on white.

Is 1000 x 1000 enough for Shopify, Etsy or Daraz?+

It works, but it is below what they suggest. Shopify suggests 2048 x 2048 px, Etsy recommends at least 2000 px per side, and Daraz recommends about 1024 px on a 1:1 square. Starting from a large photo and resizing down keeps it sharp.

Will a small photo look blurry at 1000 x 1000?+

If the original is smaller than 1000 px, it has to be enlarged, and enlarging can't add detail. Start from the largest photo you have.

How big does 1000 x 1000 px print?+

At 300 DPI it prints about 3.3 inches (8.5 cm) square. To print at an exact size in cm, use Resize Image in cm.

Are my photos uploaded?+

No. The resizing runs in your browser, so the photos stay on your device.
